Emotional sobriety is beginning to take its rightful place in the discussion of the necessary elements of a full recovery. This is an important book because it extends the discussion of emotional sobriety in a very important way - it encourages us to be aware of ourself and others - how all our behavior positive or negative creates a ripple effect. We cannot have emotional sobriety without an awareness of this fact. When we were in our active addiction we were unwilling to face this truth. If you are going to grow yourself in recovery this becomes an essential element. In fact many mental health professionals define mental health as being aware of self and others. I love how Fred tackles this discussion. His book will definitely take its rightful place in the recovery classics. As an author of several books about the process of recovery I urge you to add this book to your collection. Allen Berger, Ph.D. - Author of 12 Stupid Things that Mess Up Recovery, 12 Smart Things to do when the Booze and Drugs are Gone: Choosing Emotional Sobriety through Awareness and Right Action, 12 Hidden Awards of Making Amends and soon to be released - 12 More Stupid Things that Mess Up Recovery.

I was very excited to learn this book was going to be released. I had benefitted so very much from the original, "Drop the Rock." I was willing to pay the price from the publisher plus shipping--- was ecstatic when I saw it on Amazon, for a better price AND as a prime member, my shipping was free and speedy! As for the book itself, I was initially skeptical when I first realized that it was a different author. The fact is, I needn't have worried! The book was great. I can't begin to describe all of the 'a-ha' moments that it inspired. Well written, thoughtful and truly helpful on my journey.

I really have enjoyed this book. I bought it for a friend for her anniversary in a recovery program. Actually I have it downloaded on my tablet but found this really handy to read. This book is simple but nudges my mind to think of things that I know are things I can improve on ... been sober for many, many years and there is always a lot to learn and this book awakens my mind from its tendency to rest on my laurels...

I had the privilage of finding this amazing book. Having a lots of doubts about step 10 this author help me to open my mind and I learned how beneficial for my life is to practice this step and how enriching would be for my recovery to learn to apply it all day!! That's a goal that by faith, learned in my program AA, I will accomplish with the help of my fellows friend, AA and God as I understand it. Thanks for your service writing this treasure!!

A truly inspiring and motivating book that will help anyone who is really willing to let go of the shackles of addiction.I highly recommend this book to those who are looking for true recovery and freedom from their hurts, habits, and hang ups.5 Star Book!

I am now starting to read Drop the Rock The Ripple Effect after reading the 1st book several years ago. Good read and would recommend.

This is an incredible book, just like "Drop the Rock" it is deep but very helpful in looking at some of the areas I want to work on.

Amazing read. Really deepened my insights on steps 6-7 and 10 and how important they are for my recovery. I'm really grateful someone told me about this book!

Shh! We Have a Plan, by Chris Haughton

Review

In a gorgeous nocturnal landscape of deep purples and blues, four figures go marching along. ... They tiptoe towards the bird with hilariously expressive body language... In a breathtakingly rich spread, a flock of colorful, jewel-toned birds appear and drive the schemers into retreat. ... A masterful delight, this crafty caper has huge kid appeal and a title/refrain that will easily sneak into the family lexicon: shh! We have a plan. This perfect blend of circular narrative, deceptively spare art, and humor becomes a story that kids will want to read at storytime, at home, and to themselves if no adult is handy.—School Library Journal (starred review)There’s a bouncy staccato music in the carefully structured text, and listeners will quickly anticipate the patterns and helpfully join in on the repetitions as they root for the little guy who knows better than the big fools. Haugen’s art is original yet easily legible... The temptation to act this out will be almost irresistible, so channel the impulse into an organized (or even semi-organized) performance.—Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books (starred review)With cover art recalling Ungerer’s The Three Robbers and the wry sensibility of Klassen’s Hat books, this is a natural choice for any storytime. A spare, humorous text pairs with blocky, digital illustrations to tell the story... Plan on repeated readings.—Horn Book (starred review)Big, blocky shapes and intense hues make the action simple to follow, and Haughton’s text is similarly telegraphic. ... The delicious stupidity of the hunting trio, the purity of heart of their small companion, and the sweet-tempered drama of each page turn make this a classic exercise in picture-book making.—Publishers WeeklyHaughton’s stylish digital illustrations in chunky patches of color make masterful use of hue and contrast—the jazzy warm-toned birds are vibrant when set against the crepuscular blues of the friends and the woods. With only a few words total, a repeated refrain, and a visually unmistakable plot, this is a great choice for emergent readers or a group storytime.—Booklist OnlineA peace-waging parable, presented with wry minimalism à la Jon Klassen or Tomi Ungerer. ... Haughton uses a palette of deep blues and purples for his simple forest scenes; this causes the hunters' googly eyes to stand out comically and also makes the fuchsia, red and orange birds easy to spot and follow. Last seen creeping up on a squirrel, the hunters have plainly learned nothing from their experience…but young readers might. Sure to "net" young audiences, who will definitely root for the birds.—Kirkus ReviewsIt’s one of the best picture books of the year.—Travis Jonker, 100 Scope NotesThis slapstick adventure (rendered in brilliantly saturated colors) demonstrates that if the best laid plans often go awry, then poorly laid plans don't stand a chance.—Huffington PostMany young readers will enjoy the story for its humorous elements while others will nod gently, recognizing its life lessons about the impact of force versus gentleness. The repetitive use of cautionary "Shh"s hissed at the youngster as the gang tries to execute its plans and the moody digital illustrations are bound to make readers feel as though they are moving stealthily through the night.—Reading Today OnlineChris Haughton tells a simple story with illustrations that are reminiscent of Eric Carle.... With few words on each page and a repetitive pattern, young readers will delight in this engaging story.—Library Media ConnectionDelightfully vibrant.—BuzzFeed

Possibly one of the best young toddler books ever. My son (age 2) has been in love with this book since about 18 months, and it is one of those rare treasures of a book that I don't get bored reading over and over (and over and over and over). My son knows all the words, and loves to act it out, even looking for birds outside as we walk to school. It is beautiful to look at--the artwork is so simple yet marvelous--it has funny moments and sweet ones, and it actually has a moral to the story that is valuable to adults *and* that my 2 year old can grasp. I have been buying this as a gift, along with the almost equally fabulous "Oh No, George!" for everyone I can think of with a child in the 1-3 age range.

We LOVE this book!As a board book, I live that it is the full story. Nothing is edited out. However, some of the pages are condensed so instead of having a full page spread of Sh! Shh!!! We have a plan! (Covering two pages.) It's that on the left and ready one, ready two.... On the right side. I was a little disappointed because it takes some of the magical suspense out but it's a lot of pages for a board book. And we still love it.

I don't know what it is about Chris Haughton's books, but the three of them are my toddler's three favorite books. There's something about them, maybe the repetition, maybe the bold graphics, I have no idea, but he loves them so much. This book is now his new favorite. I also don't mind reading it 57 times a night, which is good, because that's pretty much what's happening. It's a very simple story, the pictures are interesting, and best of all, my kid gets really excited about reading this. This is really a great find.

I borrowed this book from the library for my preschool class. I was able to read it on-on-one with a student who had difficulty attending during story time. She not only stayed with me throughout the entire book, she laughed and recognized when to say, "Shh! We Have a Plan!" She told her mom about the book when she came at the end of the day. I HAD to buy it for her and wrote on the inside describing her reaction. I sincerely hope she is able to share this with her own children some day.

The colors are beautiful, the paper is lovely, the story is okay. But this book makes my son cry every time! We first read it a few months ago, when he was 15 months old, and the "Shh, shh..." part made him cry immediately. After a couple of times, we decided to put the book away. We brought it out again last night. My husband was sitting on the floor reading it. As soon as he got to the "Shh" part, my son ran over to me and shot his hands up, begging to be picked up. On the next round of "Shh," the corners of his mouth turned down and his little chin started to tremble. Immediately, my husband picked up our copy of Barnyard Dance and my son and I danced around the room, restoring a smile to his face. What is it with this book? Our son is such a happy little guy. We follow a gentle parenting approach, and our son doesn't mind when we say "Shh" any other time. He is just not a fan of this book.

I saw this book crammed in between books on the shelves of my local library, and jumped at it. I just recently corresponded with the author, but didn't get a chance to read it yet. I am so glad I did.The illustrations were what caught my eye first. Chris Haughton earned the 2014 Association Illustrators Award for children's books with this title. The pictures bold colors, but simplistic nature, of the paper-cut characters are captivating. They leave a lot of imagination up to the reader. The four characters could be any gender, nationality, or age, and give room for any reader to connect to the story. The simple plot is full of charm and humor. Four friends are out walking and find a beautiful bird, they must have. The larger three have a plan to catch it, but they fail time and time again. The littlest one doesn't follow the plan, but finds another way. Ultimately, things don't go according to plan, but the story comes full circle with a witty end. This was an absolute delight to read, and now a copy adorns my very own bookshelf at home.

We absolutely love this book! My 16 month old son started pointing out the bird (red when everything else is blueish) on his own. The book is repetitive enough that he can learn some words without being so repetitive that I get board. "Ready one, ready two, ready three, GO!" is his absolute favorite part and that works outside the book too (getting him to lie down for a diaper change, even). Also, the book is simple enough to act out. It's really very versatile.

Love this book!!! few words but words that kids love to say and enjoy. Fun book for kids and adults. I have read this to my 22 month old granddaughter and she just wants to read it over and over, simple drawings, really get the children involved and who doesn't like a story where the youngest one is the smartest..LOVE THIS BOOK will buy again for gifts!

I first heard an I review with Steph through the Beautiful Writers Group. Her honesty and advice really stuck with me.I finally got around to reading this book after reading far too many business books. This was a great galloping story with unexpected romance, grit, courage, and an on-your-knees snot-fest that was alarmingly familiar. I highlight many paragraphs as fodder for my journals and blogs. I loved this book!!!

This book is so honest and entertaining. It’s one of my very favorite books. It’s a great memoir of a woman finding satisfaction within herself, achieving goals and ultimately finding her own brand of happiness and love.

such an awesome and raw story from Steph. Even if you aren't a skier, there are a lot of takeaways from this book that we can all benefit from. But if you also happen to love skiing, then I rate this book a 7 out of 5.

Such a great story and easy read! I've ended up buying this book for 2 of my friends as gifts as well because her story is so inspiring.

Finally, a memoir about how we don't need to be in the muck of life, broken and in despair, to make a significant change. And the timing of this book couldn't be more perfect! Steph is an inspiration to anyone (male or female) who doesn't want to settle for mediocre. I laughed out loud and wanted to run out the door with a pair of skis in hand and a new sense of adventure into the world. Steph is an inspiration to make changes (big and small) and she gives us permission to have a damn good time living life to its fullest!

Having written my own memoir, I know telling a story in a way that captivates and holds the readers attention is not an easy thing to do, yet this is precisely what Steph has done. The top three things I admire the most about her are: 1) That she had the courage to give up a job that had a promising future in order to follow her heart, not knowing what the future would bring. Most of us have dreams but it is rare when someone actually has the guts to follow them, especially when that dream is to travel the entire world!; 2) Throughout this book she offers amazing tidbits of wisdom that those who are aware will deeply appreciate; and 3) She shares her adventures in the most remarkable way, such that I felt as though I was right there experiencing them with her. I highly recommend this book to anyone who feels they need a bit more adventure in their life. Thanks Steph!

Loved this book - inspirational, funny, and well written! Jagger's journey to find fulfillment and sense of "self" is relate-able to anyone who seeks "more" in life. Thoreau once wrote "The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation" - Jagger recognized this in herself and decided to face it head on. You don't have to face crisis to seek deeper meaning and understanding in your life. You just need to step up to the starting line.

I really enjoyed this book. Though I'm a long way from snow, I could really appreciate the challenge and adventure of Steph's quest. Unlike many of these types of stories, she remained honest to herself (and the reader) in good times and in bad. I loved her sardonic turn of phrase and she did a great job of describing the different locations - giving us a keen sense of the "personality" of each mountain location. Remarkable.

The Theban Plays: King Oedipus; Oedipus at Colonus; Antigone (Penguin Classics), by Sophocles E.F. Watling

Review

“[Oedipus the King] is Sophocles’ most famous play and the most celebrated play of Greek drama . . . Aristotle cites it as the best model for a tragic plot . . . Freud recognized the play’s power to dramatize the process by which we uncover hidden truths about ourselves . . . Sophocles is more interested in how Oedipus pieces together the isolated fragments of his past to discover who and what he is and in tracing the hero’s response to this new vision of himself.”—from the Introduction by Charles Segal

About the Author

Sophocles was born at Colonus, just outside Athens, in 496 BC, and lived ninety years. His long life spanned the rise and decline of the Athenian Empire; he was a friend of Pericles, and though not an active politician he held several public offices, both military and civil. The leader of a literary circle and friend of Herodotus, he was interested in poetic theory as well as practice, and he wrote a prose treatise On the Chorus. He seems to have been content to spend all his life at Athens, and is said to have refused several invitations to royal courts.Sophocles first won a prize for tragic drama in 468, defeating the veteran Aeschylus. He wrote over a hundred plays for the Athenian theater, and is said to have come first in twenty-four contests. Only seven of his tragedies are now extant, these being Ajax, Antigone, Oedipus the King, Women of Trachis, Electra, Philoctetes, and the posthumous Oedipus at Colonus. A substantial part of The Searches, a satyr play, was recovered from papyri in Egypt in modern times. Fragments of other plays remain, showing that he drew on a wide range of themes; he also introduced the innovation of a third actor in his tragedies. He died in 406 BC.E.F. Watling was educated at Christ's Hospital and University College, Oxford. His translations of Greek and Roman plays for the Penguin Classics include the seven plays of Sophocles, nine plays of Plautus, and a selection of the tragedies of Seneca.

One needn’t be educated in the Greek classics to know that somewhere in this trilogy there is a man who gets intimate with his mom. However, the common conception of Oedipus —as in the Oedipal Complex—probably has more to do with Freud and Freudian psychoanalysis than it does with this story. The three plays of this trilogy are “Oedipus the King” [a.k.a. “Oedipus Rex” or “Oedipus Tyrannus”], “Oedipus at Colonus,” and “Antigone” [pronounced “an-tig-o-nee” rather than “anti-gone.”] Of the three plays, the first is the most well-known.In “Oedipus the King,” the titular character is facing a crisis in his kingdom. When the oracles are consulted about how the calamity might be brought to an end, Oedipus is told that he must banish the killer of his predecessor, i.e. the previous king of Thebes. Oedipus consults his own oracle to find out who the ne’er-do-well is who murdered the last king, and the fortune-teller tells Oedipus that he’ll never say who committed the killing —but acknowledges that he does know who it was. Oedipus mocks and threatens the oracle until the fortune-teller gets fed up and tells the king that it was he, Oedipus, who killed his predecessor. Oedipus doesn’t believe it at first, thinking it’s an attempt to facilitate a coup. Far ickier than the accusation of murder is the fact that —if true— it means that Oedipus has been getting busy with his own mother and has even sired children with her. Oedipus calls for an investigation. When a peasant who saw everything is called to testify, his story strikes Oedipus as disturbingly familiar. It turns out that Oedipus’s blood father (the previous king) had been told by his own oracle that his son would kill him and steal his wife, and so he had baby Oedipus sent away to die. Oedipus (who had been rescued from being staked up on a mountain) was coming through Thebes, not knowing it was his homeland, when he had a skirmish on the road with the man that he didn’t realize was both the king and his father. Later, Oedipus marries the queen (apparently there were no busts or portrait paintings of the last king anywhere) and becomes the king without knowing that the man he’d killed in self-defense was the last king / his father. When the truth revealed, everything goes south. The queen kills herself, and Oedipus’s response is almost as severe. Oedipus gouges out his own eyes and goes into exile. Antigone, one of Oedipus’s daughters, says she will be the ex-king’s guide, and because the old man is blind and not familiar with where he’s going, he doesn’t have much choice but to accept. In “Oedipus at Colonus,” Oedipus and Antigone arrive at neighborhood on the fringes of Athens, i.e. Colonus, and are planning to take up residency. The locals are welcoming until they find out the blind man is Oedipus. The story of the ex-king who killed his father and got it on with his mother has spread far and wide. The townspeople agree to call in their king, Theseus, and let him decide. Theseus decides to shelter the Thebean ex-king, being moved by his story of how Oedipus was unwittingly ruined and how the former king accepted his punishment when his offenses were brought to light. Theseus’s support becomes more complicated when Creon, a royal from Thebes, shows up and says they need Oedipus back because an oracle now says that the location of his burial will determine the outcome of a future conflict. Oedipus says no way, and Creon has Antigone and her sister (who joined them at Colonus to warn Oedipus) kidnapped. Theseus faces a serious challenge because now his actions might bring the city-state to war, let alone offending the gods. However, he sticks to his guns and rescues the daughters and agrees to personally oversee Oedipus’s burial (so that no one can grave-rob and move Oedipus’s body to a position that would create a more pleasing forecast from the oracles.)“Antigone” takes place after the death of Oedipus. The dutiful Antigone is now back in Thebes. When her brother Polyneices is killed and Creon orders that the prince not be buried, Antigone refuses to accept the decree. She steals the body and gives it a proper burial. Antigone was engaged to marry Creon’s son, Haemon, but Creon decrees that the woman will be imprisoned in a cave for disobedience of the king’s order. Haemon asks his father to be reasonable, but Creon will have none of it. Eventually, the words of an oracle convince Creon to change his mind, but he finds himself too late. Like Oedipus, various ruin then befalls Creon. While the details of the story may strain credulity in places, these works are powerful morality tales. The recurring theme is that one can’t make an end-run around fate by way of vice and neither can one otherwise manhandle events to achieve a desirable outcome. Oedipus’s father sends his son to be killed, but the outcome remains the same. Creon can’t plant Oedipus’s corpse where he pleases and neither can he deny a man proper burial. It’s almost a karmic tale. Perhaps, the path to pleasing the gods is through virtue, and not through finagling one’s way to compliance with forecasts.I find it fascinating how crucial a role is played by oracles throughout the three plays—and what that says about human nature. The fortune-tellers are always right and are always heeded. In a sense, this story tells one about humanity’s fear of uncertainty, what people are willing to do to allay that fear, and how the world is ultimately too complex for those attempts to work out. The law of unintended consequences remains ever present.I enjoyed these plays. They are brief, stirring, readable, and thought-provoking. I would recommend them for any reader—particularly those interested in the classics.

There’s a pattern with many of these Greek tragedies. Through the sad tales of cursed families, they illustrate the evolution of Western civilization. Fifth-century Athens was a light in the dark, a young democracy, and the Athenians used tragedy as a tool to preserve history, learn from it, and document their growth. With The Oresteia, we saw Aeschylus tackle the ideas of law and respect for the state, and Sophocles continues along those lines, but places the focus on another great philosophical problem–free will vs. fate.Though heady, the plays also had an entertainment value. The Spring festival celebrating Dionysus provided an opportunity for playwrights such as Sophocles to compete and put on a performance for thousands of spectators. Tragedies usually ran in the morning and the more lighthearted comedies toward the end of the day.Being tragedies, lighthearted these three Theban plays are not. They adhere to the Greek tradition of dramatizing the lives of a cursed family, but instead of the House of Atreus, we gain a jagged view of humanity’s affliction through the House of Oedipus. The first play, Antigone, is actually the last chronologically. Oedipus is dead, yet the curse continues. Thebes has defeated an onslaught of Argosian warriors, led by Polynices, the exiled son of Oedipus. He was killed, along with his brother, Eteocles. Antigone, daughter of Oedipus and sister of both Polynices and Eteocles, wants to bury the body of Polynices, but her uncle and Theban King, Creon, threatens anyone who does so with death. I think you can see where things are headed…Next comes Oedipus the King, the shining star of the three plays–the painting within the frame. Each piece has its own beauty, but we move back in time to that dreadful moment of discovery. It’s through Oedipus’ actions that we see an evolution in Greek theater. The plot builds perfectly according to Aristotle’s Poetics and is the cornerstone of many a modern story. Oedipus represents the everyman, marching forward, thinking destiny is within his control, only to discover that he is a mere puppet to fate.A plague has struck Thebes and the only solution is to bring the killer of Thebes’ last king, Laius, to justice. Through plot twists and turns, Oedipus dedicates himself to finding the killer, only to discover that he is the killer, and that he has fulfilled a prophecy which he has tried to avoid all of his life. The truth is too much. His wife and mother, Jocasta, kills herself, and Oedipus gouges out his eyes, his one act of defiant free will. Finally, we are presented with Oedipus at Colonus. Many years have passed and Oedipus has become a wanderer, guided by the loyal Antigone. He finds himself in the town of Colonus, just outside of Athens. The oracular prophecy makes its next move: Oedipus has arrived in the place where he must be buried. This play is an ode to Athens, and by being buried just outside the city, it will be protected for all time. Thus ends the Theban trilogy. Similar to my Aeschylus readings, I picked up the Robert Fagles translation. Sophocles’ writing flows easier and is less dense than that of Aeschylus, so if you had a tough time with The Oresteia, you may find Sophocles to be more in your wheelhouse. From Freud to soap operas, you’ll certainly begin to understand the many references to this bit of dramatic history.

If you are already familiar with the Oedipus Trilogy, this is a fantastic free digital edition. The formatting is easy to read, the text reads easily. My chief complaint with this copy is that there is no navigable table of contents to easily move from one play to the next. If you are completely new to the Oedipus series, do yourself a favor and read it out loud as you are reading it. It may sound silly, but plays are meant to be heard out loud and not read silently. Anyone having a hard time understanding the language will be greatly aided by the rhythms and sounds of the spoken word. Classical reading. Required reading for most high school/college literature classes.

Personal quotes from current and former rodeo participants enliven this look at one of America's oldest sports. Using the results of a questionnaire, you learn how they think of their lives and their jobs. The authors delve into the good and bad of rodeo, from the financial cost to the medical woes, from the exclusion of women to the changes in the sport, from rodeo history to its possible future. If you're interested in rodeo, you should get this book....

I've really been enjoying this book. Good, basic easy to read information, especially for someone like me who knows so little about the sport. I was afraid I'd be overwhelmed with info but not so. Yet,wow, so much more is involved in the different events than I imagined.

From an insider's view, this is an accurate review of rodeo sports today. It is easy and interesting to read.

This book apparently came right off the rodeo arena, maybe even packed around in somebody's blue denim before leaving the warehouse. There was a dead bug carcass on the underside, along with a dark streak (bug guts I'm hoping as the only other dark things in rodeo arenas ....I shudder to think about), a bit of a spider web, and a very rumpled and slightly worn cover. This book wouldn't have lasted 8 seconds except it was requested by a student and there is no time to send this one back and purchase another.

I just recently dicovered this book and boy was I surprised. Personally, I found this book very helpful for the fact that I am a bullrider myself and found the information within it's pages very useful and insightful. It explains the origins of rodeo to the very way to play the game! With in-depth pages on Saddle Bronc Riding, Bareback Riding, Bullriding, Barrel-Racing, and almost every other rodeo event, I don't think you'll find a clearer perspective on rodeo unless you started riding! Please take it from me, for the best book on rodeo, look to "Rodeo In America"

This book really does cover the waterfront, and is a great reference work for anyone interested in rodeo. I think it could use an update, being 20 years since it was written. I'd also like to see a section on "ranch rodeo," which is somewhat different (more team-oriented, and no bull riding) than PRCA rodeo. Being a reference book, this isn't something you'd likely devour all at once. But it's definitely "THE" book to get if you want to know more about rodeo.

I just became interested in rodeos and rodeos riders and thought this book would be a good place to start. As an eager fan looking for whatever information I could get, you would think that at this point any book would meet my quest for information. However, I found this book incredibly boring and tedious to read. The author went into a lot of information that was not relevant to the riders and their performances.I was very disappointed in this book and would not recommend it to anyone, whether you are just trying to learn about rodeos or are a long-time fan.

Thoughts: This book was so so so amazing! Sutherland made each chapter build and grow on each other like a skyscraper that keeps getting higher and higher. I loved how this book was so creative with the different villains. It added a lot of suspense to the story. I also thought it was so cool how Sutherland made the prologue all mysterious, and it's only explained near the end. Another thing I cherished about this book is how Sutherland talked about Qibli's backstory, something we've kind of been kept in suspense about since Book 1. Overall, I loved this book and, in general, the Wings of Fire series.Written by a ten year old boy

This book nearly made me cry the feels are unreal. It's amazing how great of an author Tui is. Hopefully the series continues forever. Best book series I've ever read in my life. Many surprises await to be discovered if you have been reading this series since the beginning. ❤️❤️😭😭❤️

I felt like this was a great clever book, but it didn't reach the hype that it left in my mind from the last book. -Spoilers- A huge portion of the book was with the character Qibli, and his journey around the kingdom of sand. Not much of it was dealing with Darkstalker, the main villain in the book, and which we so felt hyped for. It seemed so effortless to break Turtle out of the prison and to, later on, stop the fighting between the Nightwings and the icewings. I felt like Qibli was very clever throughout the story, and the characters are really well developed. I still would recommend this book. Another gripe for me was speculation, throughout the series you'd speculate on what would happen next. You'd stay awake at night wondering what would happen next. However, this didn't quite show in the book. Still a solid book in the series.

I love this whole amazing magical series! Tui T Sutherland had managed to make the best books in the world! If you didn't know this book is based on Qibli's perspective. You meet his family and understand more about him and his life including his crush on Moon. (Pretty sad) He helps his friends stop the prophecy, and defeat Darkstalker with a bit of animus magic in a really weird way. (But also kind of cute) (you will see what I mean)Wings of Fire Forever!Tess Stanley

This book is amazing and highly inspirational, wrapping you up in a tight blanket of suspense, thrill, action, mystery, and loyalty. The characters eminate a glow that makes you feel their love, hatred, and both hopefully and hopelessness. Occasionally you simply must giggle or smirk or flinch or squeeze your kindle so hard it pops. A thick, vivid world is created, scenes are painted both beautifully and tragically, and you just can't help but feel a tingling feeling, more than simple satisfaction, when you turn the lat page of this marvelous tapestry of a book. IT BETTER NOT BE THE LAST ONE.If there happens to BE a next book, ( of which I am hearing soepeople say they loved the " series finale" and some writing they are eager for the next ( or five? ) books) I hope the narrater will be for Moon or Kinkajou. Honestly, this book was fanominally breathtaking, but Moon Rising was my second, due to character perspective and events. I love it when authors give you a hint or a detail beforehand in the book that presently seems dirley insignificant and turns out to carral all the story and make you bubble with anticipation and think WHY DIDN'T I NOTICE THAT.Meanwhile, Kinkajou is a ferociously wonderful butterfly of loyalty, a well- formed character who can only be described as teeming with strong joy that is only given to her - nope. Her joy is given to her friends AND all those aroud her, whether they like it or not, no matter how adorably annoying she may be. She is above and beyond the dictionary description of lovable. It would be equally fascinating to see the Jade Winglet's next adventure through her eyes. And then there is Clay. He started off this series, so why shouldn't he finnish it? ( Not that the next book should be the last one. It better not. )Finally there is " The Legends " . I strongly believe and suggest that there be at the least one more Legend book, regardless of what dragonly tale and\ or secrets it behold. One more thing: enemies. Exquisite. Darkstalker could be both loathed and empathised, and often an unstable combination of both. But by far my favorite villan was Queen Scarlet. A refreshingly evil female; powerful, clever, and you couln' t think she was good. Never. True, Darkstlker was a great nemesis, a simply ( almost ) indestructible challenge, but no one was as thirsty as Queen Scarlet. Revenge- wise, power- wise, and blood-wise. I know spreading out the evil amoung characters is good, but have a truly COMMON enemy. P.S. : These books are plain amazing. Once diving in, there' s no diving out from Sutherland's WONDERFUL series brimmed with action, color, betrayal, love and DRAGONS.

The PSAT Math Prep Workbook for the 2018 & 2019 school season is a very deep and robust with information needed to prepare for the PSAT test. The information provided gives potential test takers the edge come testing time. One of the things I like about the workbook is how well the worksheets followed the actual test to train a test taker how to properly take the real test. Also included are tips on how to survive on testing day that would help a tester tremendously. With all the great information stuffed between its pages, it’s a book I would highly recommend and is worth the cost ten times over.

This is a very well laid out book on preparation for the PSAT Math exam. It is visually easy to read, concise and easy to understand. I highly recommend this book for PSAT preparation.

This math workbook was exactly what i needed to study for my entrance exam for nursing school. It has a little bit of everything. Very in depth and detailed. A great study tool.

Bought this book for my daughter. Great way to practice for the math portion of the PSAT and better learn how the questions will be presented. The math practices were written in such a way to challenge my daughter to focus on the questions and learn the patterns of the test. Great book if you invest the time to work through it and not wait until the last minute to take advantage of the tips and techniques presented. Thank you for making this guide!

This workbook is great!!! I really liked how easy it was to follow the lessons and how they all coalesced into the actual exam nicely. The test taking strategies were also effective and made my test taking experience easier.
